Where have I been…

…and where has the past 4 months gone! Here’s a little run down.   .   .

We left our sunny Spring-time beloved Rotterdam, beloved Albert in tow, but I shall always leave a bit of my heart at that salmon-walled flat on Van Cittersstraat…the move-01-01…needless to say – it was raining and overcast when we got to Wales. But I was still pleased to see the hills.
Life in a Europcar van right there…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Had a bit of a mooch about in the hills in Wales, with nephews and nieces and wheelbarrows…
…temporarily claimed my poor p-rents conservatory as The Crafty Prawn’s studio space…
…missed my Albert cat, but replacement waggy-tailed studio assistants made up for it…
home mooch-01…proceeded to make rather a lot of hankies and quilts – more about that later…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Went to beautiful Greece…
…hung out with the goats – got beaten up by sea anemones…
…lived in a tent and a boat…got caught in a scary storm…
greece-01…didn’t manage to brown up them legs…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
…and now we live in Bristol. more on that to follow.
It’s a Pocket Sqaure Party…
It’s hanky time! I promised a custom-hanky blog post and here it is…whether you like it or not
!!It’s a pocket square party!!
…a classic red polka dot & check with custom ‘J + E’ embroidery – this one was a 2nd year wedding anniversary gift. As it’s ‘cotton’ for two years, I thought that was pretty clever!
140414_Reds_J+E (6)-01…a delicate navy red floral & teal small spot with custom J.S initials.
blog-01…and another classic red polka dot & check with a full name ‘Victor’ this time – very distinguished.
victor_blog-01…and now we have a truly custom combo! This is what happens when a friend is let loose on my fabric drawers…a ‘his & hers’ hanky set featuring a feminine dusky pink & kawaii print and a more masculine mustard bike print & William Morris floral. These are truly one of a kind made for my American friend and his wife.
blog-01…and last but not least my latest ‘Crafty Prawn Hanky Set’ – now available in my shop – a fabulous mix of turquoise blue and chocolate brown aztec print, checks and spots. Originally made as a custom Etsy order for a lucky best-man in San Diego, California…these are now available to buy.
HOW TO ORDER A CRAFTY PRAWN HANKY…
…remember all Crafty Prawn Hankies are totally unique!
…The handkerchiefs shown in my shop listings are existing sets made either for my very own Pa or for Etsy customers and shown as an example of how your made-to-order personalised handkerchiefs could look.
…I use a lot of up-cycled and special one off fabrics, so I can’t guarantee that I will have the same fabric you’ve seen in the listing – please ask before buying if you have your heart set on that particular floral something!
…to order, please choose a fabric combination for your Crafty Prawn hanky (see 2nd image in listing) and make sure you tell me the which initials you’d like embroidered and which fabric selection in the ‘note to seller’.
…OR just send me a convo or ‘Ask a Question’, and we can discuss your specific requirements such as colours, initials and any other requirements you may have. I will then create a special listing with your individual requirements and price.
Happy Hanky-ing.
the special bits…
…machine-quilted using a combination of accent red coloured thread and invisible black and white on the geometric side; and simple white on the animal side.
